People often thought that when they are talking about a beautiful jewelry, it must have been having some connection with Spanish Inquisition. However, one thing that is real, right in the Smithsonian Institution’s collection of gems, there is one amazing and beautiful necklace completed with diamonds and also emeralds. It is very amazing to see this thing. One thing becoming a problem is that no one knows or even there is only a little information dealing with such amazing necklace. Some people say that the large diamonds were cut in India back to the 17th century.
Even a rumor or I prefer called it as a legend, believe that it was worn by those in the throne as Spanish and French royalty. In 20th century, it was belong to the Maharajah of Indore which finally ended up in the hand of Harry Winston. Later, Winston sold it to the Mrs. Cora Hubbard Williams. And she donated it to the Smithsonian in 1972. The emeralds itself are mostly found in the crystal beryl.

But later, it was discovered in Columbia and later it becomes the “gold standard” of emeralds. One interesting thing is that Colombian emerald is considered as the rarest of gemstones and it is very expensive.
